Message from Nicola

As I look back at the 2015/2016 year I am so proud of everyone in the school and what we have achieved. Firstly the move into our fabulous new Santry studio in January! Then we had our amazing 10th Anniversary show in April, with two fantastic performances! Both myself and the team here at the school are immensely proud of all the students. The feedback from everyone in the audience confirmed to me that all the hard work was well worth it. A huge thank you to all students for their hard work and commitment this year. An even bigger thank you to all our parents for their continued support and getting all my lovely ballerinas to class each week, and for the help in the run up and during rehearsals and the show itself. As I have said before, without you, the parents, none of this would be possible.

This year we also introduced new Wednesday Santry classes. Pilates for Dancers, Contemporary Dance and Adult Ballet have all taken off with huge success. Contemporary is so popular it is almost full!! Adult ballet brings pirouettes and arabesques to a whole new level. I am not sure whether more laughing or dancing goes on in this class! Either way, the feedback has been tremendous and our ladies are loving it. Pilates for dancers has been a huge hit, especially with our more dedicated dancers -  the girls have become stronger and more flexible thanks to this new class with Selma.

April also saw the arrival of little baby Julia   ...earlier than expected but thankfully she waited until after our show date!! (a true dancer already) . She cannot wait to meet you all!

Thank you to my maternity leave teachers - Jane and Lauren for teaching superb classes while I have been away, and to Karen for our baby ballet in Balbriggan and Santry.  I know the girls have been really enjoying all the classes.

When we return in September, we will begin our focus on the next round of ISTD Graded examinations [this year from Primary to Advanced 1!!!]. I know we will continue with our high levels of exam success. Please remember exams are optional...more information will be given in September to those new to the school. In a nut shell, we all do the work in the classes, some take the exam, some do not, everyone works equally hard and a high standard is expected from me by everyone attending the classes exams or no exams!

I would like to once again thank you all for a successful year, I hope you enjoy the summer and I look forward to seeing you in September.

                                                Keep practicing………………..

                                                                                                  Nicola Farcas.

International Summer School Success

I am delighted to say we have always had fantastic success in ballet summer schools in the UK. This year being no different, we have had students accepted into:

Royal Ballet Summer School

English National Ballet Summer School

Elmhurst Ballet School

The Dance Summer School Scotland

Masters of Ballet Summer Intensive, London

We wish the girls every success and remember to fly the flag for the Nicola Farcas School of Ballet.

We also need to offer congratulations to Chrissie Allen who has been accepted into the College of Dance for full time training for her TY year

Congratulations everyone.

Irish National Youth Ballet

Our school has 7 (out of 20) INYB junior company members. They had more performances over two weekends in May, performing in the Samuel Beckett Theatre Trinity College and the Civic Theatre, Tallaght.

They danced in Toy Box as ballerina dolls, rag dolls, cuddly toys and even a cowgirl, and they also danced as fairies in a Mid Summers Nights Dream.

Congratulations to Katie, Sarah M, Sarah D, Chrissie, Eva, Kristina & Ella !

Good Luck to anyone from the school auditioning for INYB’s next season on 11th June

Lower level Classes- waiting lists for Sept

Waiting lists for baby classes for Sept have already started...some of our lower levels are already very full as you will notice [baby classes, pre/ primary and level 1 mostly] It is impossible to know how many classes I will need in Sept without confirmation of numbers. The younger children’s' classes are always the most popular level! With this in mind, can you please let myself or Karen know if your child has decided not to return in September. If she decides over the summer not to return, please send an email or text just to let us know. Similarly if you have siblings interested in enrolling, please let us know. This is really important, thank you for your co-operation!
