Oct 2023 - Newsletter

Message from Nicola:
Dear Parents,

As we are well settled into our first term of 2023/2024, I would like to welcome everyone back to ballet! An especially big welcome goes out to our new students! We hope you are enjoying your classes so far. Everyone is working really well in class and we have already made some lovely progress.

I am thrilled to confirm it is indeed a show year (again!) and that our 2024 show will be  in the Helix Theatre on Saturday 13th April, 2024. We look forward to starting our choreography soon. This is a whole school production so everyone gets to perform! Parents please save the date and we will share more information soon. Choreography will be starting after mid-term, so please do let us know asap if any student is unavailable to perform.

In Term 3 last year we participated in both ISTD and Irish Dance Board examinations and I am delighted with the results. The girls worked so hard and should be extremely proud of their well-earned achievements.

To help us stay in touch, both new & existing parents please ensure you are in the WhatsApp group for your child’s class. Also follow us on social media to keep in touch.

I look forward as always to a fantastic year ahead,

Kind Regards

Nicola

Reminder:

Prompt arrival for class is very important. Late arrivals are distracting for students and teachers, but most especially for our younger dancers! Please arrive 5 mins before class to be ready for your lesson.

General appearance

Hair, uniform and general grooming is a very important part of being in a ballet class.

Children must come to class with their hair tied up and away from their face, preferably in a bun, but at least in a pony tail or tight plait. Older students should always attend class with proper uniform and a bun.

Please note also that black leggings over the usual tights are always allowed when needed :)

Irish National Youth Ballet

Our school proudly has many INYB company members. Congratulations to the newest members - Pearl and Zara :)

They are busy preparing for their upcoming production of the Cinderella which we look forward to seeing in December!

Ballet Ireland

Warmest Congratulations to our Alum, Nicola Kilmurry she joins Ballet Ireland for their winter season production of Carmen

Nicola trained with us, before joining Central School of Ballet, London. We are delighted to see her professional success after graduation.
